I remember September 11. Do you?

This post originally came when I told someone that I lived in New York, and that person was like "Oh my gosh, did you live there when September 11 happened?" And I was like yeah.

I distinctly remember this day. I remember that when I woke up that this day would be a great day because it was the second in school (or something like that). I was in eighth grade, and didn't expect anything bad to happen that day.

I was the second person from my class to be pulled out at school. I know that for the fact because I came home in time to see the second tower collapsing.

Let's see that day, the first person who left was a guy whose mother came. She was talking to my humanities teacher, and I guess that's how she learned about it. She even gave no homework (I didn't realize then that she didn't give any).

I remember hearing the mother saying something about bomb and Israel, and I thought, ok another suicide bomb in Israel, and I hope my family is alright.

Then I left while in the middle of earth science, the only teacher who assigned homework. I am assuming he didn't know what really happened.

Of couse, seeing how I didn't know what was happening, I was very confused. I tried to get over this by watching the TV, however all the images I saw were horrible. I mean what 13-year-old girl wants to watch the tv and see the towers collapsing, over, and over again. I was trying to find in the TV and see my own shows so that  I can get those mental images out of my head. Also it was hard for anyone to get out of Manhatten that day, I know that the PATH in New York to New Jersey had to stop and wait till all the clean up for 9/11 in order to work again (I wonder if there's a stop still around where the Twin Towers were at?) I know for a fact that there was one subway train that went from Manhatten to Riverdell (Bronx), because my friend told me that, and she was lucky to get home. Other people had to walk, and there were those in school who had to wait in order for their parents to pick them up.

However, later on I called all my friends to see if they had any friends who were in the lower east side and if they are alright! There was at least one person in my class who had someone working there, but he said that his sister was fine.

The next day (Sept. 12) school was closed (for obvious reasons) and I went all the way to 14 street. That's how far people can go. I remember smelling and seeing the smoke around 42nd street. Some of my friends said that because the wind was so high, they can smell the smoke all the way at the end of central park (110).

I remember being so terrified and scared that this kind of attack happened here in America. Do I think that America is safe? No, not at all. But at least no such attacks happened again in NYC.

I was terribly upset, because the last time I saw the towers, I took them for granted, while my mother said, that the twin towers were beautiful. My mom was right.

The next next day (Sept. 13) there was a long homeroom where people talked about how they felt. I am glad I had that at least, so I can have some psychological intervention (to begin with this is so tragic for anyone to see).

As a New Yorker, I am slightly upset that there's no memorial for the twin towers for yet. I wonder if the two beam of light will occur tonight?

It's such a tragic event.

My college had a moment of silence, but it's done around 8:00 AM when not a lot of students are there. However my college created a site, dedicated for those who fell on 9/11, especially students who were at BMCC and those who lost a relative or friend.

Recommend, or Star, and comment below. God Bless everyone and God Bless America!

This post is dedicated to American Airlines Flight 11, United Airline Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93! Over 3000 people perished in this tragic event. I especially commend United Airlines Flight 93 for being the first group of people to actually fight the terrorists and not let the airplane crash in the white house! I commend all those firefighters who fought the flames, and help rescue people in the Twin Towers! In addition, to all those people who helped other people to get out of the area in time regardless of one's religion, because essentially when it comes down to it, we are all human beings, and we should all treat each other the same respect and love to everybody.

PS. I never thought that Middle Eastern people should be hated. I made the distinction between the fact that terrorists are Middle Eastern, but not all Middle Easter people are terrorists. I never did understand the many hate crimes that occured after Sept. 11, I did hate the people who did these attacks, but it's not right to hate people on their race.

PPS. I still have the New York Times edition about Sept. 11 (it was printed on Sept. 12) somewhere at home. To learn about more of the details go to this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11,_2001_attacks .

This is at my new site. So anyway apparently there's a fucking retard here on xanga who thinks I should stop writing here. But I kinda believe that Xanga is all about writing and expressing oneself. I seriously think little girls should stay off xanga! I'll post either here, my new site or my personal whenever I feel like posting....
